i have been around newborn intensive care my entire life. i also live in a city where a very high rate of transplants are done because of an excellent transplant center at one of our hospitals. unfortunately, i have not heard of a baby that little being considered for any transplants. my own daughter was born with 2 different heart defects and was over 6 lbs at birth and the doctors still didn't want to start talking about doing surgery until she put on some more weight. they finally ended up doing surgery when she was about 2 months old and her weight had not gone up at all. i do wish you and your god daughter and her parents the best of luck and my heart is with all of you. keep good thoughts in your heart and love that little girl while you can. and say your prayers...sometimes that's the only way that things can get done.

Maybe she just needs on a respirator, my cousins were born at 24 weeks. Mackenzie was 15 oz and cole was 1lb 3oz. They will be 6 in august. There is hope! Dont give up! Keep praying, God bless!
