Think about it: the price of oil has skyrocketed since the US invade Iraq. So what interests are actually benefiting from destabilizing and squandering its oil: oil companies, Saudi Arabia, Halliburton(s), defense contractors,... Basically all friends and contributors to Bush & Cheney. And the price of oil gets high enough, they'll find a way to sell the Iraq oil for even higher profits.

Truthfully and without sarcasm: no. Plain and simple. The hike in gas isn't just because of us invading Iraq. More and more people are using gas: it's the law of supply and demand. If the demand for a product goes up and there's a little supply (there really isn't a small supply, but these countries have to supply the whole world) the price goes up. Plus, with us being in the Middle East, other huge oil producing countries like Iran--especially with the controversy over their nuclear weapons program--might sell less oil to us, thus lowering the supply with the high demand, increasing the price. And as long as the American people can and will pay for the gas, they'll keep selling it. Also, as a result of whatever sanctions or mandates are out there on some foreign oils, prices will go up. Just because there are oil fields in Iraq, doesn't mean that we went in there for that. Why would we do that? If the gas prices were moderate while Saddam was in power, without this huge hike in prices, why would we go in there specifically for oil? What would you do if you suspected a foreign power was invading you to overthrow you, take your money from the oil away and put it in their pockets? You'd do the same thing Saddam was doing (sabotaging oil fields and the pipelines). The only reason why the oil prices went up to begin with during the Invasion was because Saddam felt that he wasn't doing anything wrong (like the genocide, even building up his military) and that the only reason the Coalition (led by the U.S.) was invading his country was because of the oil. And when the oil prices get high enough, don't you think people will find different venues around them? Like more carpooling, public transportation, bicycles. I know when they get so high that it's really burning a whole in my pocket, I'm buying a train pass.

If the only reason we invaded Iraq was for the oil, then why the hell are we still there? Why are we working so hard to help Iraq build it's own government and millitary and police force.
When the negative media coverage of the war started making the presidents poll numbers go south, why didn't he just pull the troops out and let the insergents have the place if he was only there for oil in the first place?
If all we wanted was the oil, why did we hold back our fire power? Why not just level the place, kill everybody who could possibly resist us then send in a bunch of drilling contractors to drill wells and let Halliburton build some pipelines and refineries to pump the stuff to the pursian gulf, we would be out of there by now, we would have a butt load of free oil, and Bush's aproval rating would be 90%.
I think you Bush haters are missing a piece of the puzzel.

George Bush & Dick Cheney are both directly involved in the oil industry.

It would take an incredible leap of faith to believe the dramatic rise in the price of oil and the exorbitant profits made by oil companies were coincidental.

Neither Bush nor Cheney is stupid (despite reports to the contrary) and everything they have done since taking office was to benefit themselves and their extremely wealthy friends.

The only reason for invading Iraq was to secure the oil fields on behalf of Exxon Mobil and other oil companies in the US & UK. Saddam Hussein had reportedly barred them from involvement in developing Iraqi oil fields if the UN sanctions had been lifted. The urgency was due to the sanctions about to be lifted and had nothing to do with OBL, WMD's or "terrorism."

As you said, the main reason for invading Iraq was Oil. You should know all of countries, including Japan, China, European countries, etc. need to Oil and US try to make full control over Oil and Oil producers. Also US want to have enough control over a strategic position where the most of Oil is produce there, it means "Persian Gulf". So they want achieve their benefits out and all of these mottos about democracy and freedom are just propagandas.

i do no longer see how some human beings say confident. regardless of in case you prefer to assume that no different us of a is in contact,Israel can no longer invade a huge us of a alongside with Iraq especially that Iraq had a reliable military . And as somebody stated, the U. S. succeeded in invading Iraq via fact the Shias, who have been mistreated by Saddam, did no longer certainly need to combat the human beings. otherwise, the U. S. might have had many extra casualties or maybe might have failed the invasion.

During Democratic reign union companies got priority over nonunion. It's political payback not unique to this administration. The price of gas went from $1.05 a gallon under Clinton to $2.02. Analysts at Goldman predicted this super-spike in prices years ago.

The real reason is revenge and gullibility of the current administration.

There is always a conspiracy, right. I take the world prima facae and heve yet to be let down. Iraq is not about oil and clinton did not blow up an asprin factory to take away news from the bj story.

presidents do their duty, then leave. Some do it wrong, other right, but all in all they are just another brick in the wall.

Of course it is. The only real reason was the oil, and the lies were the whole "Iraq <--> 9/11 Correlation" that the fascist Cons used to spread fear among the dumb people who agreed with the war.

He's doing it for his dad. Saddam tried to have him killied. And haven't you heard? He's also got a direct line to God himself. God talks to him and tells him what to do. So this is really a personal thing to him.
