All you need to do is go to a computer store like Staples or Best Buy or Fry's and buy a router for about $50 and then connect each computer by USB cable into it. You can do it all yourself. It is best to share the internet connection this way rather than to have multiple modems on the same line or multiple cable modems in the same service. Also, I'd recommend against file sharing between the computers, it really slows the computers down if you don't know what you're doing as an expert. So let Windows configure your network through the control panel and then it's all plug and play and avoid the icon My Network Places.

Yes Geek Squad, Found at Best Buy around here, will do it for about $50 per. But you'll have to buy a router for around 80-100$ that works for 4 computers. If you want to network more than 4 then the routers get more expensive.
But networking is real easy. Go to Best Buy or similar and buy a linksys router. Tell the sales guy what you want to do and he/she'll show you the right one.
The routers come with instructions that have very large pictures of how to hook it up. If you plan to get on the net you my have problems getting your DSL or Cable to work 'cause you have to set the router up to control the connection where your computer would normally control it. If you have that problem then give your ISP a call and they can walk you through it.

Are you wanting to cable them together or use wireless? It makes a difference. For cable you need to have a hub, which each computer connects to via a cable. You need a nic card in each computer. Just plug each computer into the hub then plug the other end into the nic card. You will need to use internet connection sharing with this setup. Run the cables then use the Network Setup Wizard on the internet Host computer first. The host computer actually needs two adaptors. After running the Wizard on the Host, then run it on each of the other computers which are called Clients.
with wireless you need a wireless router. Run the software and hook up the router. Then run the software for the adapter for each computer. You will need to set up WEP or better yet WPA for encryption to safe guard your network. It is not difficult at all. You can get a router for $70.00 and each adapter for around $30.00. Of course the cost depends on what you use. 800.11b or 800.11g which are compatable with each other, 800.11a is not compatable with anything ohter than 800.11a. Blue tooth is compatable only with other blue tooths. Blue tooth does not make a good network.
Good luck in hooking up your network.

Well, if you're near Charlotte, NC, i could do it for about $100 total.
But the best thing to do is get a Networking for Dummies book, some CAT5e ethernet cable, RJ-45 jacks, crimper, and a router.
If you want to go wireless, it's even easier. Get a wireless network card for every computer, a wireless router and the above mentioned book.
Even being a newbie, it shouldn't take you more than an afternoon to do it.

It depends on how many several computers are. However, you should be able to do it yourself with the right hardware. Check the local computer shop for routers/hubs. Is it wireless or not? if it is double check on the firewalls you have in place. Most if not all routers come with instructions on how to set it up. Most places like Circuit City or Best Buy will either have explanations or services that will set it up as well. Good luck!

Any reasonably knowledgeable computer geek can do it for you.
The cost will be determined by what kind of network you install and how many computers you have. It should cost about $25 per computer if you have to buy network cards. If you use wire, it will cost much more due to the installation of wire.

No. until eventually you are able to score a prompt bridge from Verizon, hook it as a lot as between the LAN ports on the router, and connect the pcs with the help of WiFi to the router. DHCP should be grew to grow to be off on the router for this to artwork. in the different case, each and every of the USB playing cards are WAN adapters and are not networkable. The router creates a LAN phase, even with the undeniable fact that the USB playing cards connect on to the ISP. it truly is like each and every computing device having it truly is personal DSL line.

Buy a intro book and a hub. It isn't difficult and if the computer was made anytime in the last few years it probably already has a Network Card. Hubs are cheap and if you don't want to splurge on a book you can look it up on-line.

Costs can run from $100 - ??? depending on what you actually need, do you need Network Cards for each, do you have CAT5 cable already ? Do you have a Hub/Switch ?? If you are hiring people to do it , that can be quite expensive as well..
