see if your employer can direct deposit a certain percentage or certain amount in to a savings account, but you still have to be able to leave that money alone. As long as you set aside what you want to use to help him, even if you have to get it in cash and stick it in an envelope or something, this should help the problem of not knowing where your money goes.

Ask yourself this question...when you are 65 and retired.. what saving are you planning to live on for the rest of your life ?
1. Keep an accurate record on everything you spend your money on after receiving your salary. Put in a spread sheet and figure out if you really needed that item.
2. Save with your employers 401K or if you do not have one open an IRA account with your bank or a broker.
3. Remember only you can help yourself. You can check your local library or book store on good self help books.
Wishing you a financial success..

Write down everything you spend money on. I mean everything. Then look at the list and figure out what things you don't need to spend money on.
First of all--pay yourself first. Maybe only $20 a week, but put it in an account and don't take it out.

If you work has direct deposit, see if you can get your paycheck split up between a checking account and a savings account. It's almost like you never see the money that's going into your savings account. That way you adjust your spending to whatever's in your checking account. I do this and it helps a lot.
Good luck!

If you don't already have a bank account you should get one. Make it a point to write down every dollar you spend and where. Try a little more restraint, next time you want to buy something ask yourself if you really need it.

You need to sit down and write down everything you spend in a weeks time. Everything - mortgage/rent, car payment, car, how much on food, gas, extras, utilities. Then figure up how much household income you have coming in. Then you have to budget and stick to it. You need to figure out how much you have to spend in a weeks time before you actually go out spending it. Good Luck

Take 10% and give it to him to protect. Keep a written log of every cent spent for three months. Stop drinking coffee.
