equally painful. I mean if they are permanent would you really want to be like 80 years old and have a tatoo? But get one on your lower back if you do get one. Looks way cooler.

This is what I have to say about tattoos. Honey, you can get Hepatitis C from it. It is the most rampant cause of cirrhosis of the liver. There is a treatment for Hepatitis C, but only 50% of those infected will respond to given treatment; the rest get liver disease and die. I also just got my blood drawn yesterday to see if I have Hepatitis C. You see we just found out 4 days ago that my husband has it and that I could also have it because I have slept with him. It's no small matter. I'm sitting here scared wondering what the results will be. I hope my test results come back negative. Please pray for me. I also hope for your sake that you choose not to get the tattoo; it's just not worth it. :(
Additional Note: A lot of people say it's fine if you get it done at a sanitary professional place. What they don't tell you is it doesn't matter how sanitary it is because part of the ink that is used goes back into the ink vials. To show you what I mean...imagine drinking out of a straw. Part of the liquid in the straw goes back into the glass when you are finished. It may be a very small amount; however, it is the same concept with the clean needles and ink vials when people get tattoos. Once you get Hepatitis C you have to get interferon shots 3 times a week for 6-18 months and there is no guarantee that it will work or that you won't relapse. I sure hope my test comes back negative. I will just hate it if it doesn't, and it's so sad that my husband has this. We have an appointment set up with his doctor in a couple weeks to go over his treatment plan. I think people that get tattoos are crazy!!!!

It's going to hurt no matter where you get it. It will feel like someone is carving into your skin with a box cutter. Now degrees of pain depend on location. If the skin is really soft and sensitive, or the area is boney, then it hurts worse. Anything close to the spine hurts, and lower back tats hurt because they are in a sensitive area next to the spine and in a boney spot. The inside of your arm, forearm, and wrist will hurt worse than your shoulder. Your leg (thigh), may be the best bet, because you have the most flesh there. Ankles and the tops of feet hurt like hell. Just make sure that the final resting place for your tat is easy to take care of (you have to wash it carefully, put ointment on it for a while, then lotion....) and your clothes won't rub it. Otherwise it will scab up and you'll have to go in for touchups on scar tissue. That hurts worse. And after a few years you may get sick of seeing it, or having people pull at your clothes to check it out. It happens to me ALL THE TIME. Put it in a place that will be easily covered by clothes. That way you can look formal, polished, and professional in the event you need to.

The lower back, that's where all your nerve endings are. If you decide to get one ther make sure you go to a reputable artist, one slip of the needle and you could be paralysed. Arms are painless, the lower leg (I have one from my knee to my ankle hurt like hell)..remember whenever the artist is working on an area over a bone or nerve endings it going to hurt. I was sick with my leg one and as it healed and scabbed over I had pain walking..but I love the tat and am getting to more....hope I helped..I love tat question...whichever place you choose..it will look beautiful..forget this dingbat talking hep c etc...rarely does that happen anymore ..all needles are new and opened in front of you before the procedure and tossed once the procedure is over. This twit is thinking too much about Pamela Anderson,,Hollywood and what ifs

If you get a tattoo some place that is fatty...breast, but, thigh, possibly calf or arm...that is where it will hurt the least.
If you get it on your lower back (where your kidneys are) or someplace near bone, it hurts more because the needle vibrates and your bones feel that.
But basically, after the outline is done, it doesn't hurt as much because your body gets numb in that area...I have 3 and that's been my experience.

LEG believe me even though it may seem more painfully on your back. Because you use your muscles in your legs everyday when you walk and it ill be pulling your skin when you walk.
