I have to answer questions on a frog dissection.
1. The frog's senses are located on the top of the head. How does this help the frog when it is in the water?
2. How is a frog's tongue designed for the insects that it eats?
3. I need some really good diagrams of the internal and external anatomy of a frog if anybody has one.
Thanks!!

1- it helps because the frog's head enters a new environment first, and thus can detect any potential hazards before the rest of the body is exposed.

2- the saliva is very sticky and it had papillae that increase the surface area of the tongue so the bug sticks better.

3-

4-
1) respiratory system includes lungs to allow it to breathe on ground.
2) its skin is adapted to avoid dehydration when out of the water.
3)Legs allow it to walk and hunt on land.

5-
1) respiratory system includes gills that allows it to absorb oxigen from water
2) smooth skin allows for smooth glide-like swimming in water
3) dactilia are webbed on both hands and feet which allow for powerful rowing when swimming.

Cheers.

Just think of it as preparation for dissecting a human, which you must do to become a medical doctor. If you can make it through dissecting your favorite animal with no emotion whatsoever (revulsion or enjoyment like a Jeffery Dahmer) than you will be ready to dissect a human possibly a baby. Doctors have to do lots of awful things to save lives or at least try to. Imagine if you were the ER doc, and they brought in a 5 year old inner city girl, who lost half her face to a drive by shooting. Then the bum father, who was the intended target was screaming obscenities at you and threatening to murder you, if the child did not survive with no permanent damage. ER docs get to deal with pleasantries like this often.

The fact sense organs are on top of the head helps several ways. The tympanum (eardrum)also allows air pressure to be equalized in the frog's head. The frog has a set of transparent eyelids called nictating membranes that protect its eyes in the water. Their tongue is mostly attached at the front of the lower jaw; it flicks out to capture prey.
