I had back stage passes for "Kiss" Gene Simmons is just what he seems, an arrogant ******. The members of AC/DC were really nice and sober which was surprising.

I have met a great many famous people in my life. The first when I was a little kid I met Roy Rodgers and Dale Evans and Muddy Waters at a Sport Show in Chicago. I was 5, kinda dating myself. I have been a road musician most of my life I have met many big time musicians over the years doing openers for them. The kewlest were Ted Nugent and Jim Dandy from Black Oak Arkansas. One of the biggest weenies was Pat Traverse back in the day when he drank allot.
I have gotten to meet Bart Star and Ray Nitshke they were both pretty kewl too.
Those are just a few. For the most part everyone I have met were just good ole normal people.

Yes, I have met serveral famous people. They were like you or I and quite down to earth. Then I met a few new famous people that were arrogant and felt they needed to live up to some kind of public image. That was very annoying and a turn off.

Judas Priest -- 1986, backstage after a show in Peoria, IL. It was only the second concert I had ever seen (the first also being Priest, same tour, 5 months prior), and both a friend and I were selected out of a random pool to ask our questions in a post-show Q&A session. I was wearing a Judas Priest headband and t-shirt from that night's show, and, while answering the question "What is heavy metal to you?" Glenn Tipton pointed me out and said "Now that's *very* heavy metal." I am freaked out by this *twenty* years later.
I have also met the following bands/solo artists after club shows:
Great White (numerous times) -- ALWAYS, ALWAYS friendly and willing to take umpteen pictures with anyone and everyone.
Joe Satriani -- quietly cool and very pleasant; Stu Hamm played bass on that tour and was great, too.
Lita Ford -- yummy! Very nice, very sweet, very hot. (Heh heh.....)
Dick Vitale -- I won his online "Hoops Trivia" contest in 2003 and got to stay (on his dime) in the Ritz-Carlton (Sarasota) for a couple of days. He took us out to dinner and a Devil Rays ball game, where I got to go on the field and meet Lou Piniella (then Tampa Bay's manager) and quite a number of the Seattle Mariners players (who were taking BP at the time). Dick is a truly nice guy and, as his trademark saying goes, "awesome with a capital 'A,' baby!"
Tony Furtado -- a multi-skilled instrumentalist who opened an all-acoustic show for Eric Johnson. Tony worked his own merchandise table and signed the CD I bought. Really nice guy - very pleasant.
"Beltin'" Todd Helton, Colorado Rockies first baseman -- well, I got his autograph, anyway, before a Reds game (I live in the Cincinnati area). The Rockies still had Galarraga playing first that year, but Helton became their starter the next season.
Dante Bichette, Colorado Rockies outfielder -- when I lived in Denver, I hung out at "Pink 'E's," and Dante made a few stops there to play foosball. I chatted with him a little the first time I saw him in there, but I think I'd have had better luck had I been female.
Nickelback -- I'm not really into their music, but the ex-girlfriend likes 'em, so we went to a show (Three Doors Down headlined) the night before 9/11. They had an autograph booth set up, so we went over and got stuff signed. They were pretty nice guys.

Yes, I used to work in Security at a hotel. So, when I met "celebrities", some were cool, some weren't. For example, when I met Shaq, he was cool was his body-guard was a jerk. Al Gore was very nice. Derrick Smith (former KC Chiefs player) was a total ******. He always got the Presidential Suite and treated everyone on the hotel staff as if they were servants. He would be-little everyone.
