No. It's already ended.
What is going to happen in 2012 is that the world will be reborn. We're in the transition phase right now.
On 12-21-2012 (13.00.00.00.00 on the Mayan Long Count Calendar) there is a once in 26,000 year astronomical alignment, a conjunction of the rising sun and the milky way which signals a new sun (new world age) starting.
Read "Maya Cosmogenesis 2012" by John Major Jenkins for a lot more on this subject. Read my 2012 article on my Jaguar Nights blog or my regular website for other information on that day.

The "world" will never end. Our human existence will surely end. It could happen tomorrow or in the year 2012, but we are far more than just our physical bodies. We are creation and thus we will always be. How many times in the past millions of years has the world ended? Never. There have been extinctions, but afterwards life always finds a way. Live for today and forget about tomorrow.

Just be.

Nobody would know the answer to that, for all we know the world could end tomorrow. I guess we will just have to think about that question until 2012 or the day the world ends.
