how do you make a directory from the windows environment? it was simple in dos. also how do you copy a disk into the directory instead of file by file?

To create a directory:
Run windows explorer.
Choose the drive you want to create a directory.
Click on it using the mouse (right button)
Choose New -> Folder
Type its name

To copy the entire disk:
Run windows explorer
Click on drive A:
Press Ctrl+A
Press Ctrl+C
Click on target drive/folder (directory)
Press Ctrl+V
