Yes. As a woman who has carried a child in my body for nine months with love, I can see how such a circumstance could twist any love a woman might feel for her child to hate--or that she would be afraid that it would. I wouldn't want to carry a child whom I thought I'd never be able to look at without remembering what happened. Also, the baby begins to move at about four-to-five months. Every time that fetus moved, it might bring back the fear, the self-loathing that it was happening, the pain, etc. Not to mention that if you really hated the produce of the rape that much, the feeling of birth might seem to be a second rape. I think that some women can handle it better than others, so it should be the choice of the woman in that situation.

I don't think abortion is okay unless it involves rape or incest. If someone gets preganant and isn't raped or molested then its their fault and they should under no circumstance abort the child. They're innocent and there are a lot of families who would love to have a child because they can't have any.

But if a woman is raped. It's terrible beyond words, she's been violated and now if she gives birth to the child then she knows she'll always have a physical reminder of the terrible tradegy. So a raped woman/molested should have every right to have an abortion. Afterwards she could see a consulor and talk about it with them to help her through it. It's heart-breaking to think, the woman did nothing wrong and now inside her body is a reminder of what she lost.

No, a baby is a baby is a baby, abortion is NEVER okay. I get that women have a choice, but what choice does that child have. In the animal kingdom when an animal becomes pregnant they are carrying a baby, an egg is a future animal, but an embryo isn't a future child? Give me a break. This is just people trying to get themselves out of sticky situations with little or no consequences. Plus, if you are raped they give you a morning after pill (which should only be used in this instance) and the chances of you getting pregnant are slim to none.

If more hospitals offered Emergency Contraception to rape victims, abortion wouldn't have to be considered because the woman would not have gotten pregnant.

And, yes, abortion would be okay because the law says that it is okay.

As for personal views on it, I cannot believe that even a pro-life person would be so cruel as to insist that a woman carry a child to term that is nothing but a reminder of the most traumatic experience she has probably ever had. Besides which, at the time she would likely find out that she was pregnant and would have the procedure done, it would not yet be a baby as one answerer referred to it.

While I am anti-murder (ie Abortion) if a women is raped I could not tell her not to get an abortion and make her have a daily reminder of that rape. I would however try my best to convince her that the rape was not the fault of the child. If she can not live with the child she can always give it up for adoption.

No way! This is a human life we're talking about. There are so many people out there who would adopt the baby...besides which, it's not the baby's fault.

I knew a girl in college who was raped and got pregnant as a result. She ultimately lost her baby due to complications from a car accident and she was heartbroken because of it. It's a human life and it has as much a right to live as you or I.

Legally in most states abortion is legal in all forms. While the debate over different circumstances is still going on (late term, parental/spousal notification, etc.) one part that EVERYONE is in agreement on is that it IS legal for a woman that was raped and becomes pregnant to abort their child. Id check YOUR states laws regarding it just to be safe. You didnt choose to be impregnated by that animal, you should not be forced to bear his child. While I may not personally agree with abortion, I DO believe in people's right to do as they will. You have my empathy as well as my best wishes that your problem is resolved quickly and the way that serves you best. I hope this helps.

No a abortion is not right. Any baby has the right to be born. If that person does not want to raise the baby then put the baby up for adoption. There are alot of people out there who would love to have a baby to call their own.

I think that woman have the choice to make. Now that doesn't mean i condone women getting abortions all the time. I think that if a woman was raped, she should be able to have an abortion if she wants to.

No it is not ok. It is murder, think about adoption many families are willing to give that child the love they need. Think about it the baby has no fault at all. Give it a living chance even though its not with you. Many people cant have babies and would be willing to take yours in. Abortion is wrong and God will see you on judgement day
