If you don't have a religious affiliation, this doesn't really pertain to you, because you don't have any rules to live by but your own. However anybody claiming any type of religion should be able to tell that homosexuality is indeed wrong. It's a total misuse of the body. There are people out there who say,"Well doesn't God love erverybody?" Yes he does, but he also says that homosexuality is an abomination. Honestly, he destroyed two cities in Genesis for homosexuality.

MsDee:
The Bible never says that all sin is the same, and being gay is not like a lie or cursing because is stay with you your entire life. You can repent of a lie or a swear and never do it again, but if you're living homosexually you would have to be in a state of constant repentance because you're constantly gay, and constantly sinning.

The men in the city asked for the angels to come out Lot's house, even though Lot offered them his two daughters in their place.Sounds like we're dealing with homosexuals to me.

Competitive altruism.
People in our culture compete with each other to see who can be the most tolerant, accepting and altruistic. This is especially true of those situations where the person has no direct cost to themselves. The point here is they want a reason to feel superior to others because they don't feel worthy enough to be accepted just as themselves. They don't feel good enough so they need some confirmation that they are better than others.
This is so strong that they deny the obvious (example, AIDS is widespread in the homosexual community because of depraved behaviors). They tend to disdain the person who points out a truth like this.....until they catch AIDS from their spouse who is a closet homosexual, that is.
Basically, the entire insanity that is liberalism are evil marxists exploiting this phenomena of competitive altruism in people. They use neurosis to turn our strengths into a weakness. The solution is, of course, to not be neurotic.

I have very strong SPIRITUAL affiliations. And the fact is that, the bible is not to be read as a black and white instruction manual...it's a book of parables to teach valuable moral lessons. If you want to get a certain message from the bible, you can because it is very ambiguous. It is open for any interpretation you look for.
Most importantly you have to remember that the bible was written by men. They may have been disciples, but since they are not God himself, they are capable of bias and mistakes.
I'll provide you a link to check out for more info on this, but remember to look at things with an open mind. Rather than reading with your opinions and judgements already in place, examine with an open mind. And be humble enough to look at the possibility that you, or your parents or pastor etc, could be mistaken. Arrogance is the one thing that will prevent you from learning. Once you feel you already know the answer, yu are not open to another point of view.
Oh and to panacea....get your facts straight...do not just group all homosexuals together. Truthfully yes gay men do have the highest percentage of HIV positive cases. However lesbians have the lowest, and almost always from a source other than sex.
If AIDS is a gay disease....let's talk about magic johnson? How many women ddid he sleep with? Hell I bet he's proly personally responible for a percent or two lol. (j/k that is an exxagerated comment... aka a joke). So to prevent the spread of AIDS ...become a lesbian.
AIDS is only more prevalent in gay men because of the sensitivity of the anal tissue. Heterosexaul couple who engage in anal sex regularly are just as likely to contract HIV from one another. Your comments are ignorant are misinformed. Educate yourself before you make a fool of yourself next time.

Do some studying before you look ignorant. Sodom and Gomorrah where taken down because everyone had sex with everyone. Homosexuals were know as heterosexual perverts. The words were changed from isolators to homosexuals by translators. Since the bible was written in Hebrew.
But the bible does say your JUDGMENT is wrong. I am also sure you jack off so, stop misusing your body. And yes God is love a he gave his son to forgive your sins.

Your argument is completely bias is base on religion and religion is not all . Indeed the religions that ban homosexuality are only 3000 years old or less. So how trust worth can be? And yes I have my own rules and as an individual is the way it should be.
My rules are live free don’t hurt any one and be good to your world.
As suppose to most religions which main rules are be afraid of the god and do what we tell you

actually your wrong about sodom and gomorra andd what religions think, look them up on wikipedia if you don't believe me. But biblical scholoars think that sodom and gomorra were destroyed because of selfishness and greed. this is supported by what ancient historians wrote about both cities. Also the direct translation from hebrew to english does not indicate the gender of the crowd, the translation of stating it was the men of the city did not find its way into the bible until King James. Also angels are described in the bible as having no gender so even if the crowd was composed of only one gender it would not have been a homosexual rape. Finally the members of the crowd wanted to have sex with the angels against their will, in other words rape them. Biblical scholars have stated this was the actual offense and most gay people will agree that yes rape is wrong. No where in Genisis does the book come out and say god killed those cities for being gay, only people ignorant of their own religion say that.
As for Christianity, no where in the new testament does Jesus denounce homosexulaity. Also in Pauls letters which are often used as proof against homosexuals, biblical scholars as well as ancient historians both agree that he was talking about homosexulaity in general but rather the Greek and Roman practice of older men having sex with young children around the ages of 9-12. Most gay people would agree with Paul that yes, sex with small children is wrong. The only verse that specifically denounces homosexuality in general occus in Exodus and Leviticus but in both of these sections god approves of slavery, of beating your slaves and wife to a certain extent, and executing a woman if she isnt a virgin on her wedding night. Since i dont here Christians defending any of the latter I am at a loss as to why they would selectivly choose to denounce gay people.
As for other religions Confucianism, Hinduism, Shinto, Sikhism, Voodoo, Wicca, and Judaism all view homosexulatiy as acceptable. Even in Christianity most Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists, Metropolitan Community Church, Moravian Church, and Unitarians accept homosexulaity. It would seem that you don't really know what you are talking about at all since two of you major statements in your question are wrong. Perhaps you should further educate yourself on this matter instead of showcasing your ignorance.

This may be true but homosexuality is not the only sin. So if all gay people are going to hell so is everyone else. Everyone sins that's a part of being human. It also states that no sin is greater than the other.

Why do christians constantly pass judgement about it? All have sined and fallen short of the glory of god. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Judge not thus you be not judged. Maybe you should be dwelling more on your own faith and stop questioning others. Christians are the biggest cause of atheisim in the world and you are no different my friend. What makes you so perfect that you can question other people?

I believe in God. And I do support gays and gay marriage, why? Because they are people as well and just because they're gay doesn't mean they can't have rights!!! Heteroseuxals can marry so why can't homosexuals? It's not fair to them. I believe in equal rights! Gays should be married. Just because they're married, doesn't mean its bad. It's two people who love each other just like everyone else! So whats the big deal, screw the religion part of homosexuality!!!

Balla,
You have no idea how bored I get writing this over and over.
Not all religions agree with you. Let me repeat that NOT ALL RELIGIONS AGREE WITH YOU.
My parish sees nothing wrong with homosexuality. Neither do entire denominations -- Christian (United Church of Christ, Unitarian, etc); Jewish (Reform Judaism, Reconstructionist); Other (Correllian Nativist Trad., North American Spiritualist Church, etc) -- and HUNDREDS of other groups I didn't list by name, including major portions of a number of major mainstream protestant churches.
I understand that your particular sect, probably one of the 1400 plus Christian denominations and non-denominational affiliations in the US doesn't like gays.
That's nice.
It's also what freedom of religion is about. You DO NOT EVER have the right to legislate your beliefs, or push them on people from my Church, or from any other Church that doesn't agree with you. Likewise we have NO right to do the same in reverse to you. And, neither of us have any right to push for the legislature of SECULAR law.
As for Sodom and Gomorrah -- have you ever read the Sumerian scripts from which the Sodom and Gomorrah story were taken as bastardized copy? I would bet not, furthermore I would bet you are told not to consider things like historical antecedents because they are of the devil -- but the reality is that they are extremely important, and very real. There were several other cities that were destroyed in the original texts -- all of them situated on "the plains" -- Uruk was one, there were several others. They were destroyed during a war between two gods in the Sumerian Pantheon -- as were Sodom and Gomorrah. The war had nothing to do with sexuality at all.
Oddly, in my Church, we recognize that "scripture" is largely mythic and taken from older sources -- so things like that matter to us. That does not mean we don't believe in Christ -- which belief has NOTHING to do with believing a bronze age book full of myths is divine writ.
Faiths differ. Enjoy yours and rest secure that no one will try to force your minister to perform a gay marriage -- then, having thought about that -- leave the members of other churches who don't agree with yours on this issue -- alone.
Regards,
Reynolds Jones

You people using YOUR religion to debate homosexuality need to get a clue.
Organized religion is dangerous and causes pain and suffering throughout the world and always has. You do not have to follow a religion to have beliefs and a strong faith.
Oh...I hope I haven't offended you. Whatever.
