Official time in continental Portugal , including the Madeira Islands - is always the same as in Greenwich, England. Hence, GMT + (or - ) 0 (Zero)!

However, in the Azores Islands (they are Portuguese too!) the official the time is GMT - 1!

Portugal mainland and Madeira have the same time as Greenwhich Mean Time (GMT) in the winter. In the summer, they get one hour ahead of GMT. In the Azores, it is always one hour less than the mainland and Madeira.
