I don't judge a person based on there sexual preference. I don't think of sex (hetero or homo) as neither good or bad...it just is. So you might very well be a "bad" person...but I don't think that has to do with your sexual preference. As far as it being choice...I highly doubt it being a choice. WHy would someone choose that road? When the road of someone who chooses the opposite sex is so much more smoother? But I can't be definite on that answer, cause I'm not gay (however I don't choose to not be gay, I just prefer my husband)

I used to be gay; but I am not now. Some people think that it is irreversible. That is simply not the case. Of course, I had to want to change. As they say in AA (I am paraphrasing), you cannot become healed until you admit you have a problem.

Nonetheless, I agree (theologically) with many of the posts above. God does not hate gays. God does not hate anyone for that matter. As Paul, one of the earliest followers of Jesus aptly said, "God demonstrates God's love for us in this: while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." This means, of course, even when we are at our worst, God loves us the most.

However, this early believer in Jesus; i.e., Paul, also said that all of humanity tends to rebel against God. It's our nature, so to speak, for us to doubt God and to place our loyalties else where. God deserves our worship because, among other things, God loves us more than we could possibly imagine.

Therefore, to worship or - perhaps a better phrase - "to be centered" in something other than God (for example, money-centered; possessions-centered, self-centered) is a grievous way to live.

Paul said that one of the "symptoms" of human rebellion - not the rebellion itself, but like I said, a symptom of that rebellion against God - is homosexuality. Why is this a symptom? God created humanity to be the reflection of God's own self. In doing so, God made human beings BOTH male and female. When the male and female come together, they - like the Creator God - are (typically) able to create life. To engage in same-sex relations is to deny the Creator's intent for humanity and to deny, at least partially, what it means to be fully human. More could be said, but perhaps this will suffice.

I apologize for the long entry; I thought the excellent question deserved an answer with some substantive content.

everybody who reads this question knows a gay person.....and everyone who takes the time to answer loves, or in some cases, loved said person. just chill out and be yourself. God does not hate.....He does not hate anybody. and it is not a choice.....God knows I'd rather be married and have the white picket fence and 2.7 children just like the American dream promises us all....it just ain't happening for me......i knew when i was 4 years old.....why would God punish me for something He put inside of me in the first place. could be He was trying to teach tolerance and love to a whole new generation, people.....

lighten up and just show some love, and i promise not to come after your daughters......

Stoning gays you f-ing freak? Where does it say to stone gays? I have heard of let he who has no sin cast the first stone... We are all sinners and there is no such thing as a greater sin. So Whether you cheat on your Wife or Husband, Murder, Rape , Steal... It all come down to being a good person

I personally don't think there is anything wrong with it. I grew up with my aunt being gay and now her girlfriend is my boss. I think as long as you're happy go for it. No one can tell you otherwise. People are blind. We're all the same under our skin. Best of luck!

Because you do have a choice with what you do with your body. When you guys abuse it and defile yourselves it makes people upset because they value human life and happiness over some quick pleasure that brings people nothing but pain.

I also hate it when people blame their lusts on other people and their circumstances.

(the guys at work made me smoke cigarettes, its my dad's fault I'm gay cause he wasn't there for me, or peer pressure made me do it.)

Some people just get totally wacko about people who aren't just like them? I've never understood it, never will. You are so right...it's not your choice...and there's nothing wrong with it, nothing to be ashamed of at all. Ignore all the d--heads, that's about all I can tell you. I'm not gay but intolerance of any kind (racial, sexual...whatever!) just pisses me off!
