I am looking for organisations who donate computers to individuals. Can any one help me with links to some of these organisations?

I do not think there is any organisations which do this. I know of those which donate to schools, churches, and other not for profits, but not to individuals. I think you would be better off looking for used computers at local stores or in the paper. You can find really good deals this way. There are those who buy new computers and sell perfectly good computers that really have nothing wrong with them. I bought my first computer this way and had it for two years without any troubles. It also was full of great software that would have cost a bundle had I bought it all myself. It had Windows 98, (this was a few years ago) all the office programs, back up software, games, and much more. All the last owners did was remove their personal information. I also got a great monitor, printer, keyboard, speakers, microphone, and all the other bells and wistles that went with it. These folks how sold it to me where well off and they buy a new computer ever year whether they actually need one or not. Cool.

Good luck finding a computer.
