well GNR and U2 are NOT classic rock so they're eliminated.
most popular choice is undoubtedly LEd Zeppelin altho I am not a huge fan of theirs.
Out of the balance remaining - Rush is clearly the best contender. No other band has put out as much sound as those 3 guys for one. OR as many albums. Rush's lyrics are studied in universities. AND rush has shown a tremendous amount of growth from beginning to current in their musical style and of course, they have never sold out.

Led Zeppelin -
Only because they have had longevity, or else for short run I would go Guns n' Roses . I really wouldn't call Guns n' Roses Classic Rock however. Maybe becaus I'm an old fart! Hahahaha!
Led Zeppelin has been around longer so... Thats my pick!

Difficult to say there is a 'best' - they all have such different styles, voices, etc. In this case, have to go with
Led Zep (the epitomy of R&R)
Aerosmith-rockin'
Rush-Canadian!(Getty)
Kansas-too cool
Guns n' Roses - guitar & Axel (a real wild one)
U2 - great, but not quite a classic yet
(Faces, The Who, Cream...)

"Best" infers there are at least three good groups. Rush is the _better_ of it and Led Zeppelin.
The others had one song or a *very* short period of productivity (eg. U2 hasn't made a good record or song since 1981's "Boy"). ***** and Losers didn't products anything worthwhile.

how can you classify guns and roses and u2 in the same catagory as the other four? i thought this was a which of us is not like the rest poll.
id definatly have to say either kansas or zeppelin. zeppelin over kansas in the long run for sure.

Of course there are many that belong between, Rush and Kansas even a couple before Led Zeppelin, but hey, i'ts YOUR list.
