Alpaca or Alpaca Silver is an alloy of Copper and Nickel, and typically Zinc (to make the metal rust proof). The alloy can also contain Tin, Cadmium, Antimony, or even Lead. Note that there is no silver in the formulation.

Either 'Alpaca' or 'Alpacca' is an acceptable spelling for the alloy.

What? An alpaca is an animal, akin to a llama.
Alpacca, on the other hand, is a nickel silver alloy.

Alpaca is not an alloy. It is the fur (hair) of an animal. Think of it as being similar to wool.

Alpaca is an animal found in the highlands of Peru.
It's fur is softer than that of the llama, but not as soft as that of the vicuña.
