I had both my ears pierced about a week ago, and up until yesterday I had left them in. I've been cleaning them up to 4 times day with alcohol. Last night the right one was itching and I rubbed my ear against my shoulder and the earring along with the plastci screwback rubbed off. I looked at my ear and say it had this black stuff arounnd the hole. I wiped it off easily and I am pretty sure even now that it was dirt from the earring, it was cleaned but then again it was my friends and I don't know what he did with it.
I know I shouldn't have used used earrrings but I had none other at the time. Anyway, after cleaning the hole of any dirt I noticed the hole was red inside, is this because I rubbed it too hard and maybe the earring pushed at the sides and created a bigger hole? Anyway it doesn't hurt or anything but I was worried that it was red and the hole might have increased in size. I even tried comparing the hole of my left ear and the hole of my right ear, the right ear was bigr

use neosporin. you probably aggravated it. might be somewhat infected. try hydrogen peroxide instead of alcohol. if it fizzes it's infected.

Go see a doctor.Even if it is nothing, you'll feel better. Also you could be allergic to anything but gold.I have that problem. If I use fake earrings for more than a couple of days my ears start hurting and stuff starts oozing out.Ear holes do get bigger as time passes. And that is good since there is less chance of the hole closing if you don't wear earrings for some time.(Whenever I sleep without putting on earrings,I have to pierce a tiny bit of skin the next morning)

Just continue to keep on cleaning your ears. Wear a new pair of good earrings- none of the cheap stuff- at least not until your ears are completely healed. The hole should go down. But if it is really concerning you, then perhaps you should go to a doctor.

its just irritated. this happens sometimes even after they heal and you reinsert an earring after a long time without.

If you dont have an earring back in it you can just expact it to close back up, a week isnt long enough for the hole to heal completely, it takes more like 14-18 days.

Get an actual ear cleaning solution from claires or some other beauty place that offers piercing, there will be antibacterial in it, as well as an anti-inflamitory.

Its just irritated, And its because it is healing to the fact that it now has a hole in it. Its normal as long as there isnt any pus or green stuff ur good, give it a couple of days if it doesnt get better (redness going away ) just ask a doctor. If it was an infection there would be puss.

Wherever you got your ears pierced at go back to them and ask them to recommend an ear care solution for you to use, but stop cleaning them with alcohol, and you should invest in some real earrings.

Its ok just put the ear ring back in with a little bit of antibiotic ointment on it to make sure theres no infection.

sounds like they may be a little infected, but a little bit of redness is normal. Just use some peroxide or something or just clean them more during the day.
