I can guess how far along I am from the first day of my last period.

And, it isn't unusual for my period to come 8 weeks late. And, yes my gyno is aware of my irregular cycle-been that way my whole life.

It's on my leg-on my left calf. It's a fairy.

no i don't think it will be a problem, as long as where you went was clean, and they did everything by the book, the reason they have problems with pregnant woman getting tats is cause tats can cause infection, and if they are not done in clean and the up most standard places where they are dodgy you may get aids, things like this can harm the baby. Just keep an eye on your tat make sure it doesn't get infected and follow all the guidlines to look after it. But i'm sure u'll be fine. and congrats on ur pregnancy

As far as hurting your baby from the actual tattoo, no, it won't. The ink goes just under your skin (nowhere near the baby) and the vibrations from the needle can't be felt by your baby.

As far as the tattoo artist using a dirty needle...yes. You could catch hepatitis B or any other diseases. Make sure you tell your OB/GYN about this when you go for your appointment. Good luck, and congrats on your pregnancy!

The same thing happened to me I was about 8 weeks along when I got my tattoo, not knowing that I was pregnant. My little boy is now 19 months old and is perfectly healthy and always has been. But it wouldn't hurt to talk to your doctor about it.

Well as long as you went to a reputable place and you know everything was sterile. You should be okay. And how you know your 9 weeks preg. if you haven't been to the Dr. yet? If you 9 weeks late and suspected you were pregnant than you shouldn't have gotten the tattoo till you knew for sure.

honestly, i wouldn't worry about it.

there isn't much that can be done now that you have it!
i would say that most likely you and baby are fine and don't stress yourself out, please.

i tanned and even drank a good bit before i found out i was pregnant.
my dr told me that there's nothing to be done now and not to worry b/c that makes you and baby stressed and makes morning sickness worse. so, relax and ask at your appointment to make yourself feel better:)

also, buy "what to expect when you're expecting" this book will answer TONS of questions for you and will clue you into some things that are good for you and some things that aren't!

congrats on the big news and take care.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say you can't get a tattoo while you are pregnant. But even if you are not supposed to, you shouldn't worry about it now. The stress from worrying about the effects of the tattoo are probably worse than the tattoo itself.

It depends. My doctor didn't say it was bad for me and I got it on my tummy too. I was about 4 weeks pregnant when I got it but I didn't know I was preggers. Where did you get yours at if you don't mind me asking? I am now almost 9 weeks pregnant and everything is going well.
