A friend of mine unfortunately is not too crazy about scrubbing throughly in the shower and I would like to get some suggestions on how best to get him to take more interest in his personal hygiene.

You should bring it up to him in a conversation one day. Try to be as nice as possible and explain to him how you think it might be best for him to bathe more thoroughly. Tell him you are not trying to be mean or insulting. If you are his his friend, you should be able to be truthful to him and if he is your friend, he will appreciate your concern. Good luck.

It might be hard to do, and you would by all means have to say it delicately, but coming right out with it is the best way to handle something like that. Good luck.
