I travelled on a train from West Wales to London at the same table as Rod, just before Christmas 1998.
In March 1999, Rod died aged 63, after falling off his roof whilst trying to fix his TV aerial.
For a few years after Rod's death, Emu never appeared in public until Rod's son, Toby was in panto with "that bloody bird" in Windsor, Christmas 2003.

Rod Hull fell off his roof during a storm, and I hope the emu's

Rod Hull died when he fell off a ladder while trying to fix his TV aerial. It happened around Christmastime a couple of years ago. Emu died with him I'm afraid.

yes that's what happened, Rod was watching a football match at home and decided to climb up on the roof to adjust the aerial, and sadly he fell off and died. Unless Emu pushed him as punishment for all the years he had his hand up his unmentionables
