What is your age?
it all depends on how much thyroid hormone u lack and for how many years u were suffering from it.
No need to worry. only severe hypothyroidism can cause trouble A little lack of hormone wont do much harm.
Symptoms of severe congenital hypothyroidism include - Delay in bone growth, Excessive sleep, Poor performance in studies, Excessive weight gain and so on
if you dont have these symptoms then u are not severely affected.
BUT SEE A PHYSICIAN SOON. Get your T3 T4 TSH tested. and if needed, take medicine.

Your goiter will explode. No, seriously, you could get quite ill. When I had hypothyroidism, I was very ill until the doctor found it and I got on medicine. Then I moved and ran out of medicine. The doctor I went to first wouldn't put me back on synthroid. I got to feel worse, and finally went to a doctor who had had hypothyroidism. He'd had to have his thyroid removed and took a pill every day to duplicate its function. If you don't take the medicine, which will shrink the goiter, you can expect to have to have the thyroid removed. That's about it.

I can't imagine that you have had this condition since birth and not had your thyroid removed. You must have a goiter the size of a basketball by now.

Your hair will get very dry and brittle, you may not think as clearly, you may feel more tired than usual. Why wonder what will happen just take the medicine. You will be healthier than if you don't.
