most common problem ive found is that the rollers are warping or could merely be drying out, which should lead to put new ones in, it also could be the idler puller and belt, the pulley could be needing a WD-40 job, or new one, but if worst comes to worst which is most unlikely then it could be some bearings either in the shaft of the drum connection, which is only in certain dryers, or least likely is the motor, and if by chance that it is the motor then id advise you to buy a new dryer, but thats one in a million and its at most gunna cost you 75 dollars considering labor and parts, thats it,.

it could be the belt but it is probably a combination of the tub rollers clogged with hair and the belt slipping from the extra friction being created. most rollers can be removed , cleaned and lubricated fairly easily. just be careful not to break or lose the retaining clips. if the rollers are shot they run about $20 each to replace depending on the model dryer. you can get parts through sears.com

most likely the rollers are dry .most dryers come apart from the front .whirlpool,speedqueen,kenmore.etc.pull off the cabinet front. and look behind the drum you will see two rollers at 5 oclock and 8 oclock if they are in good shape then wd40 where they attach to the frame.also, make sure there is nothing caught in the blower wheel .wich is also assesable from the front

unfortuneatly appliances these days are kind of a throwaway situation. if you really wanna try, look for the bearings that the tub spins on. grease them up if you can
