This is a stop error and you are receiving a BSOD-Blue Screen Of Death. "The windows XP kernel detected an illegal or unknown processor instruction, often the result of invalid memory and access violations caused by faulty drivers or hardware devices.. The error message often identifies the offending driver of device. If the error occurred immediatly after installing a driver or service, try disabling or removing the new addition." From Windows XP Inside Out, second edition by Ed Bott, Carl Siechert, Craig Stinson.

1. Look for the driver name in the stop error details.
2. Don't rule out hardware problems.
3. Ask yourself: What is new?
4. Search the knowlege base
5. Is a crucial system file damaged?

These are the top five areas you need to address with this stop error. Please understand you need to take immediate action. Even though you are able to reboot now, you may have a total crash if you do not find and fix this problem. This has just occurred with one of my computers when I installed a new printer. The driver was not compatable with my system and it caused a full crash of the system. I am now fixing it. I have to do a full reformat and clean install of Windows. I lost data which had not been backed up yet. My own stupidity for forgetting to back up before installing any new hardware.

What did you recently install? Go into safe mode and un-install it. Make sure you manually un-install the driver. Often just removing the hardware is not enough. You MUST un-install the related software and driver(s) which go along with the hardware. You can disable the newest addition first, just to see if that is the real problem. If you do not get the stop error after disabling, then remove the offending party immediatly.

Good luck. If you need help, get it. You do not want to have a full crash of your system occure so do take action immediantly.

well im thinking you need to upgrade to windows xp. or reinstall your current windows OS. but its something to do with the kernal or the core processing software. XP is unfortunatly much more stable than previous versions. but it seems that your kernel is currupt and needs a cleaning

You need to reinstall your sound card drivers, or update them, as this is an audio driver that is causing the fault.

Check your computer manufacturer's Web site. If they don't have drivers, try here:

Bill Gates used to get those screens as his nightmares. So he wants to broadcast it to every sole on earth ! lol

OK, serious ---
It's either virus or some dll is missing.

Professionally scan your OS for viruses, trojans, worms etc.
Get a windows install CD and run it in repair mode.
