could someone please explain why so many women appear happy to go about their lives with obvious moustaches? a trace of down on a top lip is forgiveable, but when it gets to half an inch long it does make them look rather male. people have the right to choose their own appearance, but i was just curious to know why.

my mum in law and sister in law have polycystic ovaries and have visible moustaches. I think people get to the point where they wax/bleach for SO long they get pissed off and give up!

I once heard from a lesbian (young and beautiful she was, too) that visible hair on the upper lip of another lesbian was a sign of sexiness, or female virility, for lack of a better term. The Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo - who is a cult person in lesbian society - cultivated a black moustache as well.

Its a matter of taste, everyone has a moustache its just some are more obvious than others, and also a matter of tolerance, if you want to shave its up to you.

Maybe they don't really know what to do.
I have learned that the easiest and best way is to shave every other day when brushing your teeth, or every day as you get older. Just use a little soap and it is so quick and is always smooth.

i don't know, it drives me mad, they generally have little tusks protrudings from their chins too. However, i once went out wearing an adhesive moustache from a joke shop and spent the whole night gettin copious amounts of attention from men and women (and the women weren't even of the butch variety), very strange.

As you said- people have the right to choose what they look like- for example it makes me feel a bit sick when I see people with holes through there tongues/lips/faces or bolts through their noses but it's not up to me to ask them why, it's their right to do it!

I think because some peole are afraid to get it waxed or like they say if u wax it will grow back even thicker and u have to keep waxing it over and over and u don't want to do that all your life.

It shows that they are hot and they don't care what anyone thinks.
So in a way it makes them sexy and desirable.

I have no idea why. I get mine waxed every two weeks, so maybe they are just in between waxings.
