Sounds like the thermostat is either sticky or completely stuck. Take it out (usually 2 bolts on the engine block from where the upper radiator hose is attached). Don't forget to put a gasket in before putting it back on - better yet, buy a new thermostat & replace the old one - it is cheap enough. If it still overheats then you could have a bad radiator fan or a clogged radiator. The radiator can be taked off and boiled clean (not a home job). If it is an electric fan, make sure it comes on. If not it may just be a fuse. If it is a thermostaically controlled fan (the hotter it gets the less it "freewheels") the thermostatic coupler may be bad. Get one at a junk yard & replace it. Last but not least you could have a bad water pump.

First of all, as soon as it gets close to "H" TURN OFF THE CAR!!! If you run it hot you can do severe damage to the car, and you won't know for a while. It could be a few things, is there a kink in one of the rubber hoses? it could be the thermostat, the water pump may be going out, you could have a blockage in the radiator, one of the hoses, a passage in the engine block. And just because it is full in the radiator overflow bottle, the radiator itsself could be low. with the car COOL, remove the radiator cap, start the car and watch to see if the fluid rises and falls after a while, this lets you know the the thermostat works, if it is a little low mix a little water with some food coloring and put it in the radiator, put the cap back on and let it run for about 5 minutes, but watch the guage, then turn it off and carefully remove the cap, with a heavy rag over it, turn it to the first detent and slowly rock it, it should release the steam, then take it off and see if the food coloring is still there, if it is then your water pump is probably inop,

If it only does it when your sitting in traffic and the engine is idling, then it might be because your electric cooling fan motor is not coming on to cool the radiator. You could have a bad fan, fan thermostat or electrical connection. If you bring a couple gallons of water along with you to pour on the radiator when it overheats, you might be able to limp along until you get to the garage. Don't under any circumstances take the radiator cap off until the engine is cool. Then take the radiator cap off and make sure the coolant is completely full, because you may have a bad radiator cap and the coolant in the overflow tank is not getting sucked back into the radiator as the engine cools.

Are you running water or antifreeze/water. Antifreeze is essential to effectively cooling your vehicle....
as for your problem...you need a new thermostat...they are easy to replace with simple handtools (usually, depending on make/model) and are less than $10...a quick fix would be to just remove the old (sticking) thermostat and replace w/ a new one...although you really should flush the entire system and replace w/ fresh fluid

Check the thermostat on top of the engine. Thermostat may be stuck closed and not allowing coolant to circulate

there is no problem.
1- check the water level in the engine.
2-if the level is full use radiator coolant available in packs.
3- keep the rpm of engine low the temp rises rapidly due to igh stress on engine. but it not a big problem.it is normal in hot regions.

in the over flow container you cannot fill it completely it have to have room for air over filling it will cause it to overheat
