All throughout Yahoo! Answers, espcially in the "Women's Studiies" section, (for obvious reasons) there are discusting questions and comments! Most are from teenage boys, (that's right, little "boys"). Yahoo! Doesn't seem to care! The questions are discusting.

I don't mind questions of debate. I don't mind provocative questions, (not sexually). I don't even mind redundant questions. Nonetheless, these perverted questions are getting on my nurves. Even worse, many females are flirting back!

Is Yahoo! afraid of "censoring"? Is Yahoo! afraid of losing business ? Yahoo! is a multi-billion dollar business. There is no doubt they could monitor these questions much better. Do you agree?

Certainly. But I feel that there are some priorities for Yahoo team, some taboos that can't be touched like President Bush, America or Yahoo. Everything else appears to be less important (I would like to be wrong).

In addition, I wonder, why do people identify freedom of speech with the possibility to say EVERYTHING including harassment, hatred expressions, violating... This is NOT a point of the freedom of speech. In liberal cultures (which America is pretending to be), one's freedom IS LIMITED by the other people's RIGHTS, and everybody's right is to be protected from harassment and respected as a person and as a member of one gender, religion, culture, community... The point of the freedom of speech is POLITICAL. This means that we should be enabled to CHALLENGE AND CRITICIZE THE POWER STRUCTURES with no threat of repression, not to violate individuals..

Some people advice that we should just ignore the fools. OK, most of us do that, but it is not enough. Many people do feel violated and we shouldn't make it happen. I think that those "fools" just use our "ignoring" in that way. They simply use every situation to terrorize others and if we ignore them, Yahoo and Internet will gradually become nothing other than one huge porn-site.

Also, it is not the same thing when one puts vulgar question in other forum - cars or government for example. It will look obvious that one is making a fool of oneself and will be probably ignored and deleted. But if the same question is posted on WS forum, the intention is clear: to humiliate women. This forum is more exposed to violations than any other is and I do think it must be better controlled. Using the excuse of the freedom of speech to violate others is one of the worst manipulations I find in this culture.

Yahoo isn't going to spend money on monitoring questions, they probably won't do more than the automatic report abuse feature.

About pervert questions, maybe some females like to flirt back as they have a miserable romantic / sexual (choose the most appropriated) life.

That is one (dis)advantage of internet : anonymous conversations, so you can say whatever you wish, you're not going to be arrested by the police or so. Some like to live in that 'virtual' world and say and achieve things they wouldn't do in real life. It gives a way to express their fantasms.

It is unfortunate. We live in a world where adolescents have to ask internet junkies about sexual difficulties, rather than their parents. If they're parents cared more for their children, they wouldn't be spending all day on Yahoo answers. I say, if you are so upset about it, don't let it get to you, instead find a more productive hobby, like Tennis or something you can do with your family. Otherwise, ignore the vulgar comments. If you can't ignore people on here, then I wonder if you can ignore people in the real world. wait a minute? Cyber-space, isn't the real world? I don't have to talk to people online? I can get out and do stuff? Wow, I'm otta here!

Its not yahoo responsibility to censor free speech. The internet is an open forum for whatever ideas you want to express. You should be careful of asking corporations or government to limit the activities of the people who make up the population.. Ignore the foolish and revel in the fact you have more class than the people you associate with.

Why are you so concerned about it? There are perverts everywhere. If people like you spent more time monitoring themselves and their families & kids and less time harping on the habits of others, the world would be a much better place.

i agree, and feel it is Yahoo's responsibility to monitor answers...it as horrifying to think young kids are exposed to some of the vulgar questions and answers that on here sometime!

I agree. It tends to be a bunch of little pervs with sick, stupid questions. I've tried numerous things, such as telling them they're in the wrong category, telling them they're sick, or if it's too vulgar, reporting them. That's my recommendation.

Oui! Oui! This is true. Is it me or is it taking more time to report people? It seems like that's getting slower. Anyway, my thoughts exactly.
