First of all, the players in this scenario are not the bride and groom, but the husband and wife. You're only the bride and groom on the wedding day.
I don't believe that it is right to ask for the ring back. The ring was given, not loaned. If you follow the idea of asking for it back, are they also going to return all of the wedding presents? The one exception to the rule would be if the rings were family heirlooms.

How old or how many kids don't matter at all. The answer to your question is no, it is not proper to ask for the rings back. They were given to her and as such are considered a gift. That is unless there was some sort of prenuptial agreement made regarding the return of them if the marriage ended. Then yeah, ask away.

No. The engagement ring and the wedding ring are a symbol of a promise that has been fulfilled; therefore, she is under no obligation of returning it to you.
If the ring is a family heirlom that has been passed on from your family and would like it back, you may offer a substitute in return.
If not, the ring is hers to keep. Be a gentleman and let it go.

nope can't ask for them back. An engagement ring is a promise of marriage, the promise of marriage was seen through with the wedding band. A confirmation of marriage if you must.
Now if you gave her an engagement ring and there was no marriage, then you could ask for the ring back, because the promise wasn't fulfilled

I would think that would be part of the community property, therefore part of the divorce settlement that would get split.
However, if it was a family ring passed down from generation to generation I say ask for them back. If she doesn't then, I'd ask your lawyer what your rights are.

What's proper about divorce? It's probably healthier for him if he can let her keep the ring, it's still a powerful symbol. I hope that works out for everyone involved.

The wedding rings were a gift. It is not proper to ask for them back.
If they have great sentimental value, they belonged to your grandmother for example, you may, through an intermediary, remind her of that fact and see if she is agreeable to giving them back or selling them back to you.

No, you don't get to ask for the rings back.........that's not proper.
It was SUPPOSED to be a life long thing.........it didn't work out.......surely LOTS of 'gifts' were purchased during the relationship..........but leave the rings behind........with the ex..
