I have been to both Mexico (Cozumel & Cancun) and Jamaica (Montego Bay). I would go back to Mexico in a heartbeat. I do not wish to go back to Jamaica ever again. In Jamaica, we traveled from Montego Bay to Dunns River Falls (about a 2 hour drive) so we saw quite a bit of the country. It is dirty and disgusting and the people were scary. We saw a lot of homelessness, begging, trash, trash, and more trash. Cozumel and Cancun have their good and bad spots, but I didn't see anything in Jamaica worth going back to see.

I have been to both. Both have advantages and both have disadvantages. Jamaica is mountainous and more tropical then Cancun. It is also much less developed. You'll have trouble realizing you're in a foreign country if you go to Cancun. Jamaica does have a lot of crime though. If you leave your resort, you'll have to be much more careful in Jamaica than in Cancun. Cancun is very expensive. If you like shopping, you won't be able to find any deals. Jamaica is much poorer and you'll be able to get some good deals there. You'll have to get used to being harassed by salespeople trying to make a few bucks though. For watersports, Jamaica is the better choice. Scuba diving and snorkeling in both areas is great, but Cancun is very developed and can be compared to any Florida beach. You may want to look at Playa del Carmen. This is an area about one hour south of Cancun. It is much less developed and has numerous all-inclusive resorts. It is directly across the water from Cozumel (another place you may want to look). Iberostar offers several good hotels in Playa del Carmen and Cozumel.

Neither. I have been to both and Cancun can be dangerous and spring break-y. Jamaica is also dangerous off the resort. I would consider going to an all-inclusive in Jamaica over Cancun, and would never leave the protected resort unless via private tour. I would much rather go to Grand Cayman, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, or one of the other Virgin Islands.

Cancun is an open door to your desire holiday just such as this place hotelbye for getting there. Cancun provides state-of-the-art resort facilities among the greatest clubs, bars, and malls only a few feet away from the most lovely beaches on the planet.Among the places you need to see may be the Isla Mujeres. Here, the cool breezes strike over the island during the day and evening and here you will enjoy: the snorkelling, the diving, the swimming with dolphins, the remote beaches for moonlight hikes and personal talks, and ratings of waterfront restaurants surrounded by great buying and lovely normal scenery. If you are buying Cancun location spot to relax, Isla Mujeres is the place to come.

It depends on what kind of tourism you like.

In Cancun you can do side trips to archeological sites. In Jamaica, you can visit Bob Marley's mausoleum.

Either way, both are great places to visit and pretty much offer the same amenities in the way of beach resorts.

Have fun!
