I believe that if one puts one's mind to it, one will be surprised at how much one can accomplish. But "anything"? Nope. Surely someone in the last few centuries has turned his or her will to the reversal of the Earth's rotation, to minimal effect (except for a splitting headache). But men have walked on the moon.

Almost anything is possible, but not all by the hand of individual humans. Sometimes we need to gang up.

Well... that really depends... doesn't it?

You can't walk through walls just because you want to... you can't grow a third arm...

There are things in your control and things out of your control... you can't stop the war in Iraq, although you might want to try. You can't bring a loved one back from the dead, although it makes a good plot for a horror movie...

You can take responsibility for your own life and understand that nothing is given to you (unless your name is Paris). I think most things come down to work ethic and drive... if you have those things you can go far, but you also need to understand your limitations... I was never going to play in the NBA, and I figured that out when I was about 14 and so put my energies elsewhere.

Might have to change the definition along the way. Like if you decide to have a baby with wings, it might not be able to happen exactly like you planned. One thing when you want to accomplish something you usually can if it's a normal thing (not like eliminating gravity from the universe for example). But you have to give up a lot of other things - sacrifice them for that goal. I am not willing to dedicate myself to some things i want because i am not willing to make the sacrifices it takes in other areas.

Of course not. I hope you're an adolescent b/c otherwise I would have to feel sorry for you. Yeah, it's okay to tell that to younger kids to boost their morale but older individuals should realize that sometimes putting your mind to it is simply not enough. You can try as hard as you possibly can but the task may require more effort than you are capable of giving.

it depends on what they are trying to do. If they are trying to grow wings and fly, that might be hard, but something like getting As when you are currently getting Fs could happen.
