THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE ME TAKE DRUG TESTS. I HAVE NOT BEEN CONVICTED OF ANY DRUGS IN ALMOST 10 YRS. I DONT DO DRUGS BUT THEY SEEM TO THINK I DO. WHAT DO I DO? TAKING DRUG TESTS ARE ANNOYING FOR US PEOPLE THAT DON'T DO THOSE THINGS AND AGAINST OUR CONSTITUTION. WHAT PURPOSE WOULD THAT SERVE ANYWAYS? IF I WERE A PERSON DOING DRUGS, WOULDN'T THEY THINK I'D TAKE SOMETHING TO COVER UP ANY DRUGS IN MY SYSTEM. THIS IS A WAASTE OF STATES MONEY , YOU THINK?

thats just it they havent given us, including my attorney, being on the stand a reason for having to take the test. me and the soc. serv. man got into a small tiff. he has a grudge against me as so does the rest of my family believes. we live in a small town where stories go to the moon.the case is about me not having running water cause my pump broke and have moved into a new home as of jan. 2006, the house was inspected and is good according to soc.serv. on top of that i get 1 hr a week visits with my 3 yr old daughter.

So you are basically saying that EVERY person on Welfare is a drug user? I know you said that's not what you're getting at, but if you test EVERYONE you are assuming they are using. I'm sure there are some. I use to work at a DHS/social Service office (only as a receptionist, but you should see some of the people that walk in!!!!!!!) You have the folks who say they can't afford food for their kids, but drive Escalades. Or families that have more than 6 or 7 kids, who want money for housing because they house they're in now is too small. But then you do have the families that were hit with devastation...the breadwinning spouse dies or a family divorces. The point I am trying to make is that from my own work experience, there are people who truly need assistance, and to subject them to drug testing is just plain wrong. As for people with disablities and social security..you're talking about people who are elderly (social security) for the most part, and people who have debilitation diseases (cancer, genetic disorders, etc) How could you morally subject them to testing. They are on assistance for a reason. Not everyone is out there to milk the system, you know....... While I agree that my money shouldn't be spent on someones drug habits, how can we single those people out without the government getting slapped with a lawsuit? If you do it for everyone, then those who aren't abusing drugs will be offended that they are subjected to testing. And if you single suspected abusers out, they are offended. It sucks, but I'm sure they have thought about this idea before and it got shot down because it's a win-lose situation. But I do feel your aggravation!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had to take test for them also. I used to use drugs and because of the tests I 'am clean. Stay clean or lose your kids. You will just have to do it, to show them u are clean, so they will get off of your back. I know u feel like telling them to get f**ked but actually they can f*** u. They suck.

Not taking the test and putting up a fuss may make you look guilty and if you have been clean then you have nothing to worry about.
Remember your kids are worth taking the test.

It is standard policy to request random drug testing for the parents in Child Service cases. Get over it. If you don't do drugs, your screens will be clean, and they won't request them as often. And, your visitations will be more often and longer when you start cooperating. The sooner you cooperate FULLY, the sooner the child(ren) will be RETURNED to you.

It's not a violation of your civil rights to be forced to take a drug test. Do it. Get it over with.

Yes they can in some states. Just like Ohio. If you refuse to do a breathalyser test you lose your license for one year. If you do not do drugs just pee in the stupid cup.

Why does the social services want you to take the drug test?
this concern is the children's welfare, the children's welfare overrides your civil rights.
