Crating a good elapsed time video?

I have taped some elapsed time videos: half a second every 5 minutes, for 6 hours. Well, my video looks bumpy, bad transition from one shot to next one, but I have seen pretty nice videos. How may I fix it? Any software I need to post edit the shots? BTW: I have a macMini to edit video.

I'm no expert in this area but as far as I know the time code for mpeg streams is calculated as /

is read from the mpeg stream and should under normal cercumstances be constant throughout the stream, but apperantly it changes a lot in some dvb and other streams.
