I have heard if you put your legs and butt up in the air, so that you are laying on your upper back, it reduces the chance of the semen coming out. I think that's where the pillow under the butt thing came about. I would check with a fertility doctor because there might be other fertility problems present that a pillow under your butt won't take care of. Not sure about the folic acid. This is something for your doctor.

It's NOT a myth, it's true! If you are trying to get pregnant and are ovulating, a pillow under your hips after ejaculation helps the sperm get to where they need to be instead of leaking out! I've read in many places while trying to get pregnant! and for the folic acid, it doesnt improve your chnaces, it's just good for the baby in case you do succeed in becoming pregnant. A preparaton type thing...I'd suggest just taking a multi-vitamin and lay off on caffiene too!

I'm sure it's myths. Folic acid is good tot ake if you are trying. It's something your body needs to help prevent conditions such as spina bifida in your child. Some docs recommend you take it several months before getting pregnant and throughout the duration of the pregnancy

While folic acid does not increase chances of becoming pregnant, it is very important for your future baby's health - it greatly decreases his/her chances of having spinal cord diseases like spina bifida. So keep taking it.
The pillow thing is a myth. If the sperm are healthy, they'll get to the egg, alright - the question is is the egg ready for them? Women only ovulate for a short time every month, and this is the only time you can become pregnant.
To learn more about this, do a search in the Yahoo! Health section. A good article can be found at: http://health.yahoo.com/topic/pregnancy/getpregnant/article/mayoclinic/CB70166F-E143-4407-BBAD479FDCB0F02C;_ylt=AqI9F4od9FovEAIq6MO2gYBLvs8F

A pillow or legs up in the air can increase the risk of pregnancy because the semen won't leak out as much. Folic acid is important before pregnancy to prevent certain birth defects.

The pillow trick is to increase your chances to have an orgasim, not get pregnant.
As for the folic acid - that also sounds like a myth

folic acid is taken prior pregnancy and it the first and second trimesters of pregnancy because it reduces the chances of the baby getting spinal bifida which is an incomplete closure of the spinal cord and spinal column and also anencephaly (severe underdevelopment of the brain), and encephalocele which is when brain tissue protrudes out to the skin from an abnormal opening in the skull.
and if you elevate you hips with a pillow the cervix is exposed to the maximum amount of semen. so yeh in a way that is true but you have to do while having sex

Both are myths. But anything to help your chances right? Folic acid will help when you get pregnant and having it stored in your body before hand will make your pregnancy and babies development better in the long run.
