It is a lack of values. The courts have removed all values education from the public schools in the name of "separation of church and state." Since the girls have not been taught any reason not to be promiscuous, they see no reason not to give in to their natural urges or peer pressure to have sex.

What triggers a man to promiscuity? Probably the same thing: A desire to have sex. Just because a person (man or woman) has sex with many partners doesn't mean they are bad or wrong or abused. Some people just like the feeling of being attracted to (and being seen as attractive by) a new person....they like the first flush of romance, sexual attraction...and falling into bed with a new partner. There isn't anything wrong with that as long as they do it safely (i.e. using condoms and birth control, not going home with total strangers) and as long as both partners are honest and okay with the "no commitment" arrangement.

Low self esteem is the main reason for a womans promiscuity. The reason for the low self esteem is what it appears you are asking. Sexual abuse is a huge motivator for both low self & esteem & promiscuity. I happen to have been a product of both. Especially when you are sexually abused as a child by someone that is well known to you or perhaps in your family. Then you grow up with a warped sense of what love is & what kind of love you need & you simply have no personal boundaries.

Well I've never been abused and I have extremely high self esteem -- I'm f*cking awesome dude :-D I just like sex and I don't buy into puritanical notions that it is only for marriage or that it always has to be about love. Sometimes you just want to f*ck, and I don't see any point in denying that just to prove a point about how good or moral I am. I am good and I am moral when I live my life to the fullest and treat others with respect and dignity, not when I parade around all high and mighty because I deny myself things I want. I see no value in that.

So I have a lot of sex. I've had over 50 sexual partners and I'm 23. I've never been pregnant, abused, had an abortion, or an STD. I've tried pretty much everything from threesomes to dildos to orgies to S&M, and as a result, I know what I like and what I don't. I'm still great friends with most of my former sex partners, weather it was a 3 year relationship or a one night stand. Some people just have high sex drives and some people don't try to be something they're not. I like sex, it's fun and everyone has a good time. I don't see why people think you have to be "triggered" or something has to "happen" to you in order to enjoy yourself in a fun, respectful, and logical manner.

And if that, in your definition makes me "promiscious" or slutty, that isn't my problem. I personally like the word S-L-U-T, it is a woman who has sex and doesn't live her life by other people's rules or expectations. I don't see how that is anything but admirable.

Promiscuity can come about for several different reasons I suppose. Its sometimes used as a shield to protect the woman from being hurt. It can be a side effect of being sexually abused. It can be low self esteem. It can be a need for attention. It can even be immaturity or peer pressure (she hangs around sluts so she thinks its the 'cool' thing to be). It just depends on the particular person you are dealing with.

It is perfectly normal. And by the way what is promiscuos? Who created the concept in the first place? Sexual inclination is there in every human being, more overtly expressed by some. Thats it. For reasons such as "moral" values and societal norms, some do not express it like others and therefore do not get branded as "promiscuous". Sexual abuse might be a reason in some cases but I think such cases are more of exceptions than the rule.

Sometimes, it may be sexual abuse. When a child is sexually abused, the abuser manipulates that child by giving them gifts or threatening them with violence to get the sex acts that he wants. As that child grows up, she learns that performing sexual acts has functioned as the only way to feel loved.

That does not mean that every woman that is being "promiscuous" (your word, not mine) has been a victim of sexual abuse. Look how prominent sex is in our media. You can't escape it in magazines, TV, music, movies, music videos. It's everywhere! Without a parent or loved one addressing that aspect as well as any moral or religious aspects of "the talk" how does one know what is normal vs. not normal sexual behavior.

What triggers a man to promiscuity? Same thing, it is biology in addition to a constant barrage by the media and schools telling us sex is perfectly normal and natural and is a great thing to do with everyone.

And all I can do is laugh at poor Dani above, who has convinced herself that her sluttiness is simply about wanting to ****. You're going down in flames chicky, becuase living your life solely for your own pleasure and not giving a thought to morality is a pretty sorry way to start.

it is human nature to be sexual. Parents dont teach children moderation, and let them do whatever they want. When the child gets hurt, the parent thinks the child will learn. When women stop trying to change the wife beater into a socially accepted human then their children wont inherit their stupidity.

If the young girl grew up without a father she sometimes tries to find the love that she didn't receive with a man.
