It depends on the school or University that you attend.
In the states, it is usually 90%. However in places like California, it can depend on your school system, the status of your parents in so on.
In Canada, Highschool is around 86% and 80% in University. This is because the courses and standards in Canada are higher than those in the states.

At most learning institutions an A student is a 92% or higher. A 90/91 is considered a B+. In university an A student is considered a 3.68 on a maximum 4.0 scale. Although you'll get a lot of different answers because of locale, in general, the scores I listed are what the majority of the country accepts as an A student. Also, you need to better define an A student. Are you talking about one subject or an overall A student. These numbers would still apply however.

It depends on the school/school system. For example, the public schools in my area consider an A to be a 90-100, a B to be an 80-89, etc. However, my school considers an A to be a 93-100, a B to be an 84-92, etc.

I live in tennessee and here it is mostly 93-100 in grammar through high school and 90-100 in higher education courses and college. I believe it is basically the same way all over america but there are some institutions that operate on different scale, but this is the widely accepted scale
