Some footie players have made the move onto the big screen but I can only think of Pele and Vinnie Jones. Has anyone got any other names - UK or International?

The late Bobby Moore (West Ham), John Wark (Ipswich) Osvaldo Ardiles (Spurs), Mike Summerbee (Man City) Russell Osman, etc all appeared in the film Escape to Victory with Michael Caine and Sylvester Stallone.

Also, a Robert Duvall film "A Shot at Glory" starring Ally McCoist (Rangers)

I was never a vinny Jones fan but i thought he could play a little, a good team organiser and an average passer of a ball, tackling skills were great 8/10 times but questionable the other 2! He was not blessed with a lot of "skill" in my opinion, he was a hard uncompromising midfield player who, as you mention, could intimidate other players and in some cases hurt them with his style of play. however his style more often than not worked and helped whichever team he was playing in to produce positive results. I don't think there is any place for the type of player that he was in today's modern game and if he where around in today's Premiere league he would probably end up with a lot of yellow and red cards to his name.

Brett Favre was in "There's Something About Mary", one the funniest movies ever made. Although he was pretty stiff and seemed somewhat scared, (he played Mary's ex) the movie carried on just fine. Ahhh, Ben Stiller, I have yet to see a movie of his I didn't like!

Vinnie Jones is AWESOME. The way he carried himself through "Gone in 6 Seconds" without uttering a single word until the last two minutes of the movie. Brilliant!
