As far as I know, there is nothing connected to the date at all. There are people, however, that are superstitious about it any time those three sixes line up.
Even at the checkout counter where I work in the summer, people will quickly add a pack of gum if their total equals $6.66, etc. They joke about it, but they change the total immediately.
The only connection that I've ever heard of that would be connected to those numbers is the number of the name of the beast mentioned in the Bible. Even though there is a warning about it, even some of the very elite will be fooled by it.
There are several different names which will add up to the numbers 666 all throughout history and yet today. However, it is also important if you're trying to solve the puzzle that it isn't just 666, but the number of his name is supposed to equal 600 and 60 and 6, which I'm told is different than just 666 in numerology.
Other than that, I know of no real warnings about those three numbers other than for superstition and movie plots, etc.

How do you know that nothing happened? Maybe the Beast was just born yesterday....or maybe there were more rapes yesterday than ever before....or deaths...
