There is, of course, no legitimate branch of science that enables us to predict the future accurately. Yet the degree of change in teh world is so overwhelming and so promising that the future, I believe, is far brighter than anyone has contemplated since the end of the Second World War. ~adapted from Allan E. Goodman, A Brief History of the Future: The United States in a Changing World Order.

Back in the past, no one could really tell what the future would be like, nor did anyone ever expect technology be so advanced. The world has surprised itself with new ideas that took us into the digital age. The future might not be clear, but, one thing is for certain, no one could have knew that back when the war had ended that it would changed drastically over a period of time like it has. The same applies now, no one knows how far we'll go next time. The world is changing, and most of the time, its far more then we would ever expect.

The world is rapidly changing. Now we have people who get things very rapidly and people who are little slower or need more work to get it. Some people don't have access to the things we take for granted, like the computer that you are sitting in front of. Can you imagine how work got done in the 70s? It must have been horrid! We have it so easy in this day but we are becoming more and more lazy because we are so used to doing things the easy way. People don't want to wait in lines, or even wait for funeral processions to go by. I ready an article about the way the funeral directors were complaining that people would flip the driver off and give them dirty mean looks and cut into the procession and even cause accidents because of it. It's sad that in this day and age of getting things the "easy way" we can't wait the two mins to have the funeral procession go by without getting so mad. My prediction of the future as far as people go is very bleak.

From the beginning of time, people have gotten old and creepy and have pondered upon their more than obvious future, and the rest still look at them and are surprised by their ingenuity, themselves unaware that now these old creeps are closest than ever to understanding how decay works.
