I have a friend who's wife died two years ago and he still wears his wedding band. I asked him about it and he replied,"I will wear it until I'm ready to move on and seek a new relationship." Maybe that will work for you, hope so.

That is completely up to however you feel. There is no set time frame. When you feel it's okay enough to move on with out feeling like you are losing you spouses memories. A lot of people never remove the wedding bands. They just put it on a different finger when they are ready to.

You dont have to. Remove it whatever you feel like you want to move on a find a new man. You could always take it off your left hand and move it to your right hand. I would switch hands and keep it on forever, or at least until you find a serious relationship with another man. Then i would put it in a safe place and pass it on to a daughter later (if you have any). Or just keep it safe for the rest of your life.

When you want to start pursuing other romantic relationships. Until you have that desire, you essentially have still bound yourself to your spouse.

Another way of looking at it would be: If you're thinking about it, maybe the time has come to take it off. After all, it's not like you're going to pawn it or something; if you feel naked without it, just put it back on!

When you feel ready. Another option is wearing it on your other hand or a different finger. I've also heard of people wearing it on a chain as a necklace.
