I gave my babies Meyenberger's Goat Milk instead of formula. I bought it powdered at whole foods and then would make it full strength to store in the fridge - then I would mix with hot water to warm and dillute it. When they were new borns it was 1/4 milk and 3/4 water - then as they grew it became 1/2 milk and water. Once they were old enough for full strength (1 1/2 years or so) I would make it double strength for the fridge.
My kids did great on this - never a problem with colic or anything. I highly recommend it.
There are lots of folks who say water, milk and carrot juice in equal parts has the most similar nutrients to Mother's milk. I did try this with my kids and they drank it no problem - it was too hard for me to do the carrot juice properly so i gave it up (they nursed anyway).
Peace and blessings to you and yours!

Start whole milk around their first birthday IN A CUP. This will help them associate the milk with a cup to get them off of their bottle. You shouldnt use 1 or 2% milk because the babies need all the nutrients that are found in whole milk. If you child is refusing to drink the milk alone, try mixing it with their formula. Put 1 oz milk 3 oz formula. then 2oz milk 2oz formula and so on until they drink only milk.

At one year of age, you should start your baby on whole milk. Ween them off it gradually (if your baby is taking 8 oz. of formula/breast milk per bottle, give the baby 6 oz. of formula and 2 oz. of milk for a week. the following week, give her 4 oz. formula and 4 oz. milk, etc., until she's completely on whole milk.) She should have no more than 24 oz. of milk a day. Also be sure to give her water, and some juice, if you want. I don't believe in juice, personally. Apple juice has no reedeming qualities. If I want my kids to have apples, I'll give them an apple. It's loaded with fiber and vitamins (which occur naturally and aren't added during the juicing process). But I digress.
Also, to Latricia...why are you giving your 11 month old baby 2%? Babies need fat in their diet...it supports proper growth and brain development. Any pediatrician will tell you not to give your toddler 2% until they're at least two years old. Not criticizing...just curious if there's a reason for it!

One year and up you introduce whole milk. Start with a 1% or 2% to slowly break the hcild into drinking the milk. MY siblings were fed SOY milk. I heard it was much healthier for the child. It also reduces upset stomachs.

You should first ask your doctor. But in most cases if the baby was born with normal weight and size usually at one year they can start having whole milk. I would try it in moderation at first and see how he or she does.

If you've been feeding your baby formula, then at 1 year of age. However, as long as your baby will take breastmilk, whole milk is completely unnecessary.

Doctors recommend to start after one year and with whole milk as babies need enough caloires.
Just replace formula with whole milk. After one year their primary intake should be solids. 3-4 bottles / day should be fine.

babies should stay on breast milk or formula until they are one yr old, then it is up to the parents of the child to determine the best way to ween them from this and onto whole milk.
