They are doing it to generate heat for the return of ECW. RVD was a staple performer of the old ECW, and now that he's back from injuries, he's the logical choice to go for a belt as he has a huge ECW fan following (and a pretty good sized WWE following as well). He actually was supposed to get some title shots before his injury. Hope this info helps.

It's nothing but an angle to push ECW. We know he'll lose because the WWE doesn't feel that RVD is World Championship material. The writers are trying to use RVD's ECW popularity to springboard ECW. If he wins (just out of sheer coincidence) then the whole thing with the WWE Title/ECW Title will take place. I highly doubt that because it would make that title a joke (like it isn't already with Cena at the helm).

RVD vs. John Cena at ECW One Night Stand. Hate to say it but I think that RVD will beat Cena for the belt. That way they can have a Heavy Weight Belt for ECW..

R.V.D. is a wussy!! Cashing in his Money In The Bank match for an E.C.W. pay-per-view!! What a baby...he need the home-field edge. BIG BABY!!
Don't get me wrong, I like watching ECW, but I grew up a WWF (WWE) fan, and will continue being loyal to the WWE!!
I hope RVD gets his BIG CRY BABY BUTT KICKED ON SUNDAY!! It's a WWE Title...................not an ECW Title!!
