my email says that my friends are on instant messanger but when i go there they say their not on yet why?

when i go to my adress book it allways says my friends are on their but their not really. Whats the problem

Maybe they see you get on and they all leave. Just Kidding really!!

actually it goes like this....... when some one goes offline (without actually going offline) using the messenger options we can still see wheather they are offline or online. To hide urself from all u can go to ur account information settings and change the settings....
