oh hun i have lots of ideas. Have you tried scrapbooking yet? Scrapbooking is a lot of fun. You can start working on one for this summer. When you spend time with your friends take lots of pictures and then put them in your scrapbook. I don't know where you are from, but i'm from California and in cali we have a store called Target. Well they have a dollar section and right now they are selling scrapbooking supplies especialy for the summer. They have ones with beach themes etc. And the cool thing is...there only a dollar. So if you have a target by you, check it out. Also you can take pictures from when you were a baby, a small child all the way up until now and make albums for them. I'm working on one right now that has a few pictures from each year that i have been around...that would be 18 years.

You can also cook and bake. I love doing baking and cooking. Just be creative and come up with new things, and find a bunch of cool recipes and try them. You could even do this with a friend. I also like to garden. You could plant flowers.

i also enjoy making cards. It's s much fun. These are just a few ideas to get you started, but i can guarantee that you will spend LOTS of time doing all of this. And the thing is, once you get started you won't want to stop. It will also make you feel good about yourself. Sometimes when i'm feeling down about something or i'm mad, i just go in my room and do some scrapbooking, or i make a card, or i just go out to my garden and water my flowers, or pull weeds. So i hope you'll like these ideas.

Do a scavenger hunt for your friends.

Rearrange &/or redecorate (paint) your room.

CLEAN your room. :-)

Organize your closet, CD collection, DVD's, etc.

Ask Mom if there's are some chores or projects you can help her with...cleaning out kitchen cabinets, straghtening up the basement, attic or garage...she'll appreciate your thoughtfulness & it might actually be fun...you could even have a yard sale with the leftover stuff. Donate extra food items to a local pantry. Donate leftover yardsale items to a charity such as Goodwill, a Mission or the Salvation Army...remember ---if you wouldn't walk into a thrift shop and buy the item yourself, then it's not worth donating! ;-)

Get a hobby.

Get a penpal.

Volunteer at a children's summer playground program.

Volunteer at a Senior Center, or just go to one & ask if someone there needs a visit?.

Volunteer at Vacation Bible School.

Make some cash by walking neighborhood pets.

Get a jump on the holidays & make your own greeting cards.

Get a library card & go to the library!

Do something, do anything, do it all, but for heaven sakes don't just do nothing with your SUMMER...it's too short & too special!!!

Arts and crafts:
-Make a scrapbook (maybe you can use this to get along better with your mom - make one for her, or get her to help you with one)
-If you like sewing - cross-stitching is easy, knitting is easy to learn with a little help
-Jewelry-making is fun if you have the time, patience, and supplies
-Bookstores and libraries have books that have many crafts and activities in them (you don't have to buy a book from a store, just look through it and get ideas)

For outdoor activities:
-Go to a local park, go swimming, roller blading/skating, bike riding, play on the playground (I know it sounds goofy, but I'm 20 years old and in college and my roomie and I sometimes do that, it's fun and free), if you have a dog, take it to the park with you, if the dog isn't trained, do it yourself - it doesn't take that long to teach a dog to sit, stay and heel, just gotta have patience (and treats!)

Do something and make cash:
-Instead of having a car-wash, have a dog-wash! (fun, but messy)
-Get a part-time job at a fast-food place, or a snow-cone stand
-Help younger kids with little league or something like that (this may or may not be a money-maker)

Try to get friends involved with some of this, and make sure your mom is ok with you going places, or getting a job.
Have fun!!

Yeah, you might be able to find some part-time summer work. And with the money you can buy some cute bathing suits. A girl can't have too many..
