Girlfriend, a "Maillot" bathing suit (commonly referred to as a one-piece bathing suit) is a classic look, and it comes in so many styles which can accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative!

Believe me when I tell you I am well educated in the area of "Bikinology." You can be too. =)

Since you stated your desire to conceal your tummy, I would suggest you look for a tank or halter (preferably halter, because those are so much more interesting and eye-catching) top bathing suit, which has an empire waistline (generally an empire waistline is higher than your actual waist. It should end right beneath your bustline...), and has a flowing skirt or trapeze style skirt attached. It will look like a "shorty-style" nightie.

If you can't find one like that, maybe try a surplice (criss cross) which has ties you can creatively arrange, or an a-symmetrical topped suit, which will only have one strap, but that one strap could be interesting, and would draw attention away from your midsection.

There is also the "bandini" style swimsuit, which resembles a tube-style top, and then has longer, layered tiers of ruffles which also help hide anything you don't want to show around the midsection.

And as a last resort, if you can't find either of those styles, may I recommend a "blouson" style Maillot swimsuit? This style features a top which will probably be either tank, halter, or bandeau (tube) styled, and around the midsection / waist area it resembles a tucked in blouse. It is also a timeless style, as well as a silhouette solution, you know what I mean?

I really hope something I've said here helps you find what you're looking for, and that you stay cool this summer. =) Cheers, and happy swimsuit shopping!

If you don't mind getting bathing suits from a Thrift Store or Salvation Army then that is the places to go. Often times things in there are new or only worn once or twice and there are many one piece bathing suits to choose from and the best part you won't have to pay a fortune on it! You may be able to buy more than one. Good luck!

Target always has a great selection of bathing suits, and they're always cheap like 10 bucks. If you don't find a good one-piece you could always just wear a cute tanktop or something over a two-piece and swim in that.
