i need to be able to get back into my computer because an ex b/f changed my windows xp administrator password to spite me. i heard of a program called linux--does anyone have any tips on how to use this????
i'm on my friends computer, so just email me if its too much to write out on y! answers! please help! i need my computer! thanks--its much appreciated.

I have a tutorial on my site on how to make a Linux live CD. Just download Knoppix instead of Ubuntu and boot from that. You will be able to access all the files, but don't write to the Windows drive unless you know what you are doing or you could damage it. Search Google for information if you plan on writing to the NTFS Windows drive with Knoppix.

Linux is not a program, but an operating system. It is available in various distributions. But, I suggest you get a windows xp cd and install it.
But there are different ways of getting back your old windows xp.
Try to boot through windows safe mode by hitting F8 key while booting. There will be another adminstrator there for most computers. Go to Control Panel and create a delete the password for the account you use in normal mode. You can also create a new account.

Well! it is possible that some websites provides free softwares to log into administrator's account without knowing password.. i forgot names.. search engines might help you!
but this time I'd suggest to use http://www.ask.com instead of Google... go to ask.com and ask him a question you'll get some replies and may be forums with that questions... explore them... and get it!

hi, there are some programs that you can run from a bottable cd, that allow you do delete passwords on xp
