Nothing's wrong with being a bit "girlie".

Sometimes people just get annoyed with it is all, but it's totally your right to be yourself!

It depends on who is using the term whether being called a "girly girl" is an insult or term of endearment. Your significant other may love how you primp and flutter and will lovingly call you a "girly girl" when you twirl around in a beautiful dress. Someone who is jealous of you, or intimidated by your beauty may use the term "girly girl" as an insult. An attempt to hurt you so that they might be able to feel superior to you. I too am a very "girly" girl. I adore makeup and fashion because it brings me personal joy. I am also delighted to share. I've done make up for friends and I sometimes make strangers smile. It's definately not bad to be a girly girl. If you suspect someone is trying to use the term as an insult, maybe you should take pity on them and offer to go shopping with them.

Hey, I'm a girly girl.

Some people might be trying to be insulting but I don't think there's anything wrong with being feminine unless you take it too far (no whiny sulky princessy behaviour a la Nikki on Big Brother).

Hopefully, they say it because you're feminine, as in interested in typical 'girly' things, rather than football and beer and being a ladette. If they're saying it because are the whiny sulky princessy type, then try to sulk less and realise you are not the centre of the universe!

I imagine they are saying you are very feminine. When I think of a girly girl I picture a girl that is very interested in fashion, makeup and style.

It would be the polar opposite of a "tomboy"

If that's what you are, what diff does it make what other people opinions are of that?

anyway, girly girls tell to be a little prissy, not really outdoorsy types, wear lots of pink, are always on some kind of diet....although I could just be stereotyping. Maybe these are just the chicks I know.....

Well it beats the hell out of being called a Dyke. Take it as a compliment, most guys like girly-girls.

If you are a self-admitted girly-girl, then why does it matter? People probably say it because it's an obvious fact. Why do you care, anyway?

No different from someone calling me a manly man.

You exemplify everything it is to be female. There's nothing wrong with that. You prolly like to shop, wear makeup, go to the hair salon, get your nails done. That's all it means.
