It depends what kind of shoes you are talking about. If you are talking about women's dress shoes...I haven't a clue...because I'm a guy.
But if you are talking about everyday comfort shoes you can't beat Ecco's. I never knew how good your whole body can feel from good shoes until I bought a pair of Ecco's. I've since owned several pairs - great for standing on your feet all day at work or walking all day on vacation. Nobody puts more science into the construction of their shoes than this great Swedish company.
Also consider Clark's for comfort...but not nearly as comfortable in my opinion. Merrell is making really comfortable shoes now too in good looking styles as well.

I like ProWings. Those are the best for playing basketball and baseball... and for walking and jumping, as well as skipping and rapping.
