I can't imagine Church being a social event...Weird.
I have my friends over for dinner and vice versa, I go to the cinema, we meet up for lunch and coffee or go for a coffee, we go to the pub, we go for a wander down the beach on the weekend - loads of stuff.

I am actually fairly against organized religion. I don't like being told to believe in something that I am not sure exists. However, my parents are Episcopalian, which is a very accepting and loving religion. They are very tolerant of people's differences, unlike some other religions (cough cough Catholics) that focus more on condemning you for your sins than anything else. What I have found in my family's church is a community of people who have supported me since I was 10 years old, who love me unconditionally, and who enjoy answering any questions I have about religion or life in general. You might find that a church environment is a great place to spend time even if you are not particularly interested in religion. I find it very comforting to know that if I have a problem with anything, ever, I have 300 shoulders who will gladly let me cry on them.
If you are still not interested, get involved in community service (the possibilities for what you can do in your neighborhood or city are endless). It's a great way to meet really amazing people, and if you have never volunteered before, it is a great feeling and you can be sure it will be much more fulfilling than hanging out a mall or a night club.

Sleep late on Sundays, go to the beach, the movies, shop, read a book, listen to music, read the Sunday newspaper, e-mail friends, internet, etc. etc.
People don't realize that if there is a God, "he/she/it" is everywhere. Stay home. They will only teach you to hate somebody else. It's a tradition.

I dont believe in structured religion, but I do believe in god. You dont have to go to church to worship. You can meditate, and just be a good person, and help others.
