There would be timeline repercussions. World War 2 might never have happened, and the world would be a drastically different place. It might be worse, or it might be better, there could have been some other crazy guy that just didn't get in before Hitler.
Yes, I probably would kill him, but what if there was someone even worse out there just waiting for a chance?
