I have not heard of the generic kind, but I have tried BE, Jane Iredale, Everyday Minerals, Youngblood, Sheer Cover and Philosophy. To be quite honest with you, except Everyday Minerals, the rest are not as pure as they claim. Try everydayminerals.com. The prices are great (almost 1/5 of BE) and the quality is much better than the rest. EM does not contain any impurities like Bismuth and does not cause any irritations.
