Don't get surgery. It doesn't work and makes it worse later on. Suggestion form someone who knows: Glucosamine pills....they work.

I know there is a "swivel" type knee replacement that allows you to move more naturally and would also allow more bend in your knee. There are also gender specific replacements (different for men and women) that are new on the market.

I'm not sure about the procedure once you have had one replacement, since that prosthesis would have to be removed before getting a new one. Ask your orthopedic doctor.

Good Luck.

Joint replacement Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges knee/hip surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as all types of surgery is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your knee/hip surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.hope this helps.

i took interest in your question because your history sounded similar to my cousins who had to undergo the hip replacement due to avascular necrosis. He got his surgery in India at just 25% the rate he was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. His gait of walking is totally normal now and he does brisk walking and mild running also just 4 to 5 months after the surgey
